| It is important to find a fluency specialist because stuttering is a very complex disorder. A specialist is a speech-language pathologist who is recognized by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Specialty Board on Fluency Disorders. A list of specialists may be found at stuttersfa.org and asha.org (Specialty Interest Division 4).
